Return to the BUILD

“In this stage you’ll begin building the right door by fitting the hinge mount, window and door handle.

Materials: The Right Door, Hinge Plate, and Hinge Mount are metal. The other parts are plastic.

Building the Right Door

Step 1

Fit the post and pin of the Right Door Handle into the matching holes at this location on the Right Door:

Step 2

Secure this Door Handle into place from the other side with one (1) PS21 screw.

When working with painted exterior parts, it is recommended to put down a towel or similar soft surface:

Step 3

Fit the Right Window onto these matching posts on the inside of the Right Door, as shown.

TIP: Using vinyl gloves while handling clear plastic parts can help keep fingerprints from making a mess of them:

Step 4

Secure this Right Window into place with two (2) DS02 screws.

Do not over-tighten these screws as you could crack or otherwise damage the plastic of the Window. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 5

Fit the round bar of the Door Hinge Mount into this slot of the Right Door, orienting it as shown.

It is important that the angled side of this Mount (circled below) is facing the Door:

Step 6

Fit the Door Hinge Plate onto the matching pins of the Right Door as shown, capturing the Door Hinge Mount in between:

Secure the Hinge Plate to the Door with one (1) DS02 screw.

The tighter this screw is, that harder it will be to open/close the door. Now is the time to adjust this screw to your preference:

Oh boy, we are working on more of the DB5 body! Out of curiosity, I held this Door up next to the Bonnet from Stage 001 and the paint  color matched perfectly. The same could not be said for my Eaglemoss DB5!
